Did al copeland's death negatively affect his menus?

Ended up eating at cheesecake bistro. I always ordered the chicken Cesar sandwich for lunch. They didn't even have it anymore. Then I noticed they switched from the thin fries to McDonald's fries. Are all his restaurants changing?

I love Copeland's original restaurants. They've gone down steadily since then, in my opinion.

I used to really like Copelands, but the last several times I went to the Elmwood location, the food was dried out like it sat under a heat lamp for a month.

He died like 5 years ago..
I doubt that had anything to do with it.
BTW what are McDonald fries if not thin?

They're thin but they fries at CB were a lot thinner before.
And yes I know he didn't die yesterday. But nobody is going to take over a longstanding success and just say "let's change everything that's working!!"
I believe over time the new people started dropping certain items and using cheaper products. Things that weren't that noticeable alone, but to people who haven't been in some time you can tell its different.

Dont recall.. Been a while since I have been to one. Last 2 trips to Copelands last year were fine though. I find I prefer Copelands menu to CB's.

Not sure if his death had anything to do with it, but i have seen a steady decline in both product and service. I have to totally agree with the heat lamp comment. Everything I had there last time was dried out.

No. Copeland's just sucks.

Did Al Copelands death have anything to do with fried chicken?

The one is Monroe is still good. The guy that owns it also owns one of the nicest restaurants in Monroe. Might be something to do with him knowing what he's doing though.

Not a fan of Copeland's restaurants but they have some good things on the menu. The cheesecakes at CB are great

I think his death has somewhat to do with the quality and service dramatically decreasing at his restaurants. But I think it started going downhill before he died, in the past 10 years. I agree that the food items at regular Copeland's are better than CB and aren't coated in gloppy thick sauces as much.

I agree. A well run Copelands can and should do well in 90% of the country. This product that they have at most of the restaurants around here is very subpar.

I think they've become too 'corporate' in the sense that they are probably trying to cut costs and reduce the food quality. I find that the management and service is not very good either. Fwiw his son, Al Jr., runs the show now, but it's definitely a shell of its former self.
