GoPro OBers - question on battery life

How do you guys keep your gopro charged when you're using then on the boat or in the woods? Brought mine now fishing tonight and drained that sucker real quick. Plan on buying a back up battery just in case but the short life seemed real bad. Around 1 hour it was drained. Didn't film the whole time but I did keep it on since it takes too long to start it before a shot.

I carry an extra battery and a battery bacpac with me. I turn mine off between filming.

How much does the batterypac extend life? Do you use wifi for remote or app? I've hot both but don't use them because of battery life.

I use it but only in certain circumstances. If I can manually control the camera I do but the wifi is extremely handy at times. Really is a nice feature to have and you can preview on your cell phone with the app.

I use the 'instant on' mode where it goes straight to filming when you turn it on. Lag of a second or two, but definitely saves battery life.

I bought 2 knock off batteries, and a wall/car charger off ebay for like 12 bucks. They work perfectly. The 3 batteries will film about 6 hours which is about what a 32 gig card holds and how long a hunt usually last.

A knock off battery works better than the factory one? Hmm what great value brand are we talking about.
Eta I'm really interested. Also I'm going to look into this instant onsettig
