You serious, Clark?

Since it's not just WVU homers saying Geno is the top QB prospect in this draft, please, enlighten all of the irrational folks out there about how wrong they are and how good Barkley is going to be.

ETA: And the outrage is over the fact that this guy is calling into question Geno's character and work ethic, attributes that up until now have been praised in Geno. No one is criticizing this guy's comments on Geno's lower body mechanics or struggles with disguised pressure.

This guy is famous now. They were talking about him on Mike & Mike this morning.

Mission accomplished.

You seriously think Geno will be a star QB in the NFL?

He's the next Akili Smith.

Where did I say that? I am pretty up front about my concerns about Geno transitioning to the NFL (inconsistent ability to sense pressure, holds onto the ball a beat too long when it is obviously there, seemed to "pout" a couple times during WVU's slide - rare, but it did happen).

We will see, won't we?

Damn. Geno has got several knocks/question marks about his game and transitioning to the pro level, but work ethic and being a "student of the game" (Geno is a notorious film rat) are definitely not some of them.

When you take the author's history into account, it's clear that those are codewords...

Yes we will.
He also has that "dumb" look about him

Kinda like Chris Bosh

Will be interesting who gets suckered into drafting him

While I hate Cam, I have to agree. I don't think whether someone is a fake person would affect how they play.

When they are a QB and is supposed to the leader of the team and offense it will absolutely effect their play IMO.

He also questioned Newton's work ethic....which proved to be totally false.

99% of all draft analysts are racist against black QB's.

Historically, guys with the skill set and body type of Matt Barkley have been good NFL QBs, while guys with Geno Smith's skill set and body type have either sucked or only hung around for a short period of time. It isn't racist, or ignorant, to acknowledge this.

My thing is...

I dont care if people think Geno sucks. If he does...he does. If he's no good, then he's no good.

But to justify it with "He has no work ethic and no focus" is kind of bogus to me.

Maybe he just wont be a good pro. Brady Quinn was smart and worked hard....he failed too.

I think Geno will be pretty good. If he fails...it wont be because he didnt try or wasnt smart enough.

yes. an LSU fan has no idea who Geno Smith is, or how good he was in college.
quote:

When you look at Smith’s passes this year, more than 60 percent of his throws were for nine yards or less. That’s the distance the ball traveled in the air from the line of scrimmage – not the total distance on the play. And only 10.6 percent of his passes traveled 20 yards or more in the air.
Geno Smith is not an NFL QB
