Who got freshman of the week?

ETA: Nevermind. How the hell did that kid from Arkansas beat out Bregman?

quote:

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Tyler Spoon • Arkansas

OF • Van Buren, Ark.

• Hit safely in four of the five games and had multiple hits in two of the three games in the weekend series vs. No. 15 Mississippi State … In the three games vs. the Bulldogs, Spoon hit .417 (5-for-12) with a RBI and three runs scored to help Arkansas to a series win .

• Spoon had two hits in each of the first two games of the series vs. Mississippi State and in the series decider on Sunday, Spoon drove in what turned out to be the game-winning run with a RBI double in the first inning to put the Razorbacks in front 2-0 in a game the team would go on to win 3-1.

Should just rename it the Bregman Award for this season.

I think Bregman is too good to win Freshman of the week now... He is considered a big boy.

I thought he put up better #s this weekend too. He did go 6/14 with 4 runs but I think he only had 1 RBI. Slacker

By comparison...

- Bregman hit safely in all 4 games and had multiple hits in every game
Tulane - 4 for 4, 1 RBI, 3 R
Mizzou - 2 for 4, 1 SB
Mizzou - 2 for 5, 1 RBI, 2 R, 1 HR
Mizzou - 2 for 5, 2 R, 1 SB

- Bregman hit .556 on the week and .429 on the weekend with 4 runs scored, an RBI, a SB and HR on the weekend.

God forbid everyone doesn't get a chance to be freshman of the week, regardless of their numbers.... i mean we all know there's Bregman and the other LSU freshmen... then everyone else.

He wasn't drafted last year because teams weren't going to waste a late pick on him. Katz told them he was returning if he wasn't drafted by "X round", which would guarantee "X amount" of money. Had Katz been a senior, he would have gotten drafted, it just wouldn't have been real high, probably in the 20's.

Yea. He's kinda a middle of the pack type player. Good role player for LSU. You know how every team needs that player that hits for power and average and RBI's and all that stuff. he fills that role for LSU.
