Congrats to Nikki Caldwell and the Lady Tigers for making it to the sweet sixteen. When most doubted, this team rallied among themselves and turned their season around, and by doing so advanced into the NCAA tournament and eventually the regional semifinal. Although they lost to #2 seed Cal, they definitely proved that LSU women's basketball is definitely on its way back to the top. Here's a few of the articles reflecting on the season, and the contribution by the two seasons who, in their last game at the PMAC, refused to let this team lose......

LSU's Webb Made Impact Heard in Final Season

Looking forward to an SEC championship and final four next season!

Great run with some really impressive wins in the last month and a half of the season. I hope we can have a full team next year. Didn't we only sign two players during recruiting season? I would like to see us go get a pure shooter who can knock down the outside shots consistently. I was most impressed with the improvement not only from Plaisance but also McKinney. I think Ballard will be even better next year and if they can get "Tank" in shape and improve her footwork a little bit, we can be really good. Not sure if we'll be SEC championship and Final Four good next year, but we're on the way back.

Thus far we've done very well for recruiting this season. This is who we have coming in next season..........

LSU Recruiting Class for 2013

Moncrief is a five star guard from Florida.

Jefferson is 6'0" wing and Nat'l Juco POY finalist.

Rhodes is an underrated four star guard out of Alabama.

I have a feeling Nikki may add one more to this class before all is said and done. All in all, with what we have coming back and the new players, we're looking very good for next season.

They should be pretty good next year if the juco kid actually plays and they add some depth

I like how the team played the last 6 weeks or so and give credit to players, coaches etc. for playing well when it looked like we would not even make the tourney. By end of the year we certainly seemed better than the #6 regular season finish and agree the new recruits look good, although we do lose some solid seniors. Thrilled the way TP grew into a legitimate First class SEC post player and how Ballard brought quickness we have not seen since Erica White. Next year should have us predicted in top 10-15 and hopefully we can get back to that level and stay there. The season could have gone either way in February and I am glad it went the way it did and not how I feared it would go. Coach P must go and once this happens I can feel good about the future top to bottom.
