Is The Following the most ridiculous show in TV history????

Watched the last 4 episodes this weekend to clear my DVR and it is the most unbelievable nonsense that I have ever seen.
I guess Prison Break is the only thing that rose to this level of absurdity once they broke out and the conspiracy junk took over.
But the scale and organization of this "cult" or whatever it is in Following is just beyond stupid. At least in PB it was a huge government conspiracy trying to cover up some assassination that would hurt the organization or whatever.
This is just a bunch of nerdy psychos that apparently like Edgar Allan Poe a lot??? And they are so organized, an organization started by a convicted serial killer WHILE IN MAX SECURITY PRISON btw, that they continually foil the FBI to the level of breaking the most infamous serial killer out of maximum security prisons on the reg not to mention killing/kidnapping dozens of people on a daily basis.
It's the most contrived nonsense I have ever seen.
How is it that people continue to watch?
What says the MTV Board on this junk?

It's turrible. I am cursed and have to finish a season if I went more than half way and it's killing me slowly.

You should keep watching. The weekly threads are pretty fun. Everyone laughs at the huge plot holes and shits on the show for at least a few pages each episode.

Man, we are what's wrong with this country. Keep watching for all the wrong reasons yet the show benefits and is renewed because of it.
We have to break this vicious cycle. We must all delete this show from our DVRs and bombard Fox with emails demanding the show's immediate cancellation and renewal of Firefly, Undeclared, and Freaks and Geeks (not a Fox show but still
WHO'S COMIN WITH ME?!?!?

I have all the episodes on my DVR. Should I just delete them and not even start?

Hey, you can search my post history and see my feelings on why I think TDK is the most overrated movie in history. I'm a big Batman Begins fan in Nolans universe. TDK was a silly movie cloaked in darkness and hidden by a great performance by Ledger which is even overrated due to his untimely death (or perhaps timely from WB's perspective).
TDKR was a more personal story about Bruce Wayne/Batman's struggles which is why the villain didn't bother me as much. But at least the conspiracy in that one was funded by some billionaire conglomerate that could make such an organization remotely feasible.
Again, this is just some nerds reading Tell Tale Heart with some serial killer through glass during visiting hours.

Yes. Yes you should.
The pilot is actually pretty damn good. The ending really draws you in.
But by the third episode, the shite show begins.
If you're like me and can't quit watching a train wreck show, just save yourself the pain and don't watch the pilot. Trust me.

Are you capable of laughing at bad writing or does it just piss you off? Basically this show probably would have been great as a 4 - 6 hour mini series but to keep it going a whole season the FBI is really bad at their jobs.

Yeah that's how I am. I'll probably delete it not many people here seem to like the show. I need to free up space on my DVR anyway.

I'm fine watching awful tv and laughing at it but not when I expected the show to be good. I watch Teen Mom each week but it's entertaining because I go into it knowing it's going to be awful. With The Following I expected it to be good which is why I set it to record so I probably wouldn't be able to sit and laugh at it and be entertained.

Me too, but here's my fear. The show was recently renewed for a 2nd season. I'm afraid they're going to do what The Killing did and drag this shite out into another season since it's coming back.

Just do yourself a favor and read all 24 pages of this thread - Following Season Long Thread

This show is so bad that I feel the need to post about how bad it is. It pisses me off that this piece of crap show got a second season.

once you accept that
The Raven's Nest > CTU
everything else falls into place quite nicely

This is where I gave up. Horrible show.

the main issue I have with The Following is it should really be a 10 episode series and thats it.
having 20+ episodes and trying to push it past a single season is too much.

I enjoy the show.
My buddy and I watch it and laugh about how it is similar to 24 in many ways. Has used a few of the same actors, Jack Bauer = kevin bacon, Lots of gore and plot twists, stuff that seems impossible, but keeps happening.
We even make the clock noise sometimes at commercial break.
For real though, I like the show; everyone else can blow me.

I like it too. I guess everything else is so realistic that everyone like.
