Crawfish Pot Basket Size

I was once told that when boiling crawfish it was important to have a tight fitting basket. I just recently purchased a 100 quart pot with the basket included, when I opened the box the basket was considerably smaller(approx. 80 quart). Is the basket size that important when boiling crawfish?

Depends on how many crawfish you want to put in the basket.

I plan on boiling an average sack 35-45 lbs.

The basket will handle that with no trouble. Fill the pot half full and go to work.
