Really? I figured you'd need to be well rounded to truly be successful at this game.
Depends on how you measure success. If you only want to get to Challenger, become one of the best in the region at a single champ and spam the shite out of it like a lot of other people do. If you want to be the best league player you can possibly be, keep yourself well-rounded and take the long way up. I prefer the latter.

It's funny, I feel like I could be a lot better if I could consistently work on the things I know I need to improve on. Things like not getting tunnel vision and map awareness. I couldn't tell you how many times I've died or let one of my teammates die because I forget to look at the minimap while I'm farming. Every once in a while, I'll have a two to four game stretch where I absolutely wreck shop, and usually during those games, I force myself to look up at the minimap every couple of seconds. Then I get overconfident and regress to my shitty form and a vicious cycle forms

I've been on a terrible run in ranked games lately, and after thinking about it a bit, there was really only one game where there was absolutely nothing I could have done to save it. In other games, I'd either make stupid decisions, or have shitty map awareness, or not seize an opportunity to roam/counter-roam when the opportunity presents itself. I honestly think that the hardest part about the game is actually focusing on what you need to improve on and actually sticking with it, even after a few good games.

I went from being placed in S3, to getting demoted and hovering around mid-high LP in S4, get to series a few times but could never get into S3. Then I took like a month off, decayed to S5, almost got back to promos, before hitting my current terrible stretch and now I'm buried in low S5 but anyways I'm done now since I don't even remember what point I was trying to get across when I first started typing

TL;DR Getting better and not reverting back to previous, shitty habits is hard. I suck at this game now

The main advice I would give to people playing ranked is have about 5-7 champs you are very comfortable with and play only those champs. Right now in plat 2 I pretty much only play Annie.

More than half my ranked games have been on either Syndra or Ahri. But yeah I'm trying to expand my champion pool a bit. And I can play everything but jungle at at least a competent level although I totally wrecked with Riven jung in my last jungle game

that riven jungle. I played the hell out of renek and annie to get up in ranks and you get so much better when you play a hero you know and you can learn matchups and how to teamfight. You don't have to worry about mechanics.

Hey man, that's totally a thing her kit actually works pretty well for it.

I seem to be stuck in a rut with Ahri and Syndra, mostly because of them only being able to carry so much without help. Might just be my shitty mechanics, but I may give Talon a go for ranked matches because people in my elo can't seem to do shite against him in norms:

Dat Vi build though

I just got shat on by a Swain in a ranked game. The hitbox on his snare is total bullshite. I got locked three different times when I was clearly outside of the circle and proceeded to get melted. I hate Swain so much

I read popular guides on Team Solo Mid's website or Moba Fire. Make item setups for your desired champ based on a guide you like.

I go to youtube to find gameplay videos to get a quick idea of what to expect as well.

After that, just jump into team builder and spam a champion you want to learn. To me, that's the quickest way.

I did that to learn top and now I feel pretty confident I can at least be average playing Malphite, Jax, Naut & Volibear in that lane.

Thanks

If anyone has a smurf around lvl 10 and wants to laugh at how newb I am and how bad the lobbies I pull are,

Ign is jerizer. Acct is jefforize.

Trying to get to be serviceable in all roles.

I'm enjoying this game wayyyyy more than I thought I would. Rito

My best two tips:

1) Learn to farm efficiently. Not many people can do this. Practice, practice, practice, practice.....

2) Don't die. Sounds easier said than done, but playing smart and knowing when you need to play passive because you've been countered or the other laner is just better than you, is important.
