alright, I went to the Sony support site and found my laptop model PCG-71913L drivers, but I see no network drivers for my model. Where would be the best place to look for network drivers to get my wireless NIC working again?

I couldn't even find PCG-71913L on their site, but google seemed to indicate that your model can also be identified as VPCEH27FX, which I found. Easiest way to find the driver would be to verify the wireless device in your laptop. Is it the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6150?

I can't even give away those 7970s and pump/res for $425

It's a tough sell because the custom water cooling market is narrow. You could always, I dunno... use them???///?/~!1

Get the TCL, slightly better than the Seiki. Got mine for $700 from microcenter, they haev them for $600 now.

The seiki is $429, so I highly doubt the TCL is worth the $200 price difference

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the link. It worked Now to just add a few other drivers to make everything work, and then put this bad boy on Craigslist.

Wow, actually it's $399 open box at newegg, that's a steal. Didn't realize they had dropped so much in price.

I don't have the time or knowledge to build a PC right now but do any of you guys have a good recommendation for a starter gaming desktop? I'm not looking to play Watch Dogs on ultra or anything like that but I would like to play games like Day Z, The Sims 4, Kerbal Space Program and Civilization games on the highest settings without any trouble.
Any help or recommendations would be great

What's your budget? Tell us what you're looking to spend and we'll hook you up

I'd say about $500-$750 is my budget. But I could spend over budget if there's enough reason too
Posted on 7/12/14 at 4:54 pm to Henry Jones Jr
that include monitor and peripherals?
Posted on 7/12/14 at 4:58 pm to bluebarracuda
No, mainly was for the tower itself. Was thinking of purchasing just one monitor for now and later on after I save up more I would buy higher end monitors and peripherals.
If you have recommendations for those to start out with that would be cool to hear. I had been looking at a Samsung 23 inch monitor that I liked and it's around $300.

Hold out and wait for ilikelsutoo suggestion. I haven't done a build list I'm forever, so I just threw in some parts k know were good. He may be able to get you something a little cheaper
The biggest thing is to find a good price for a used 280x or r9 290 on eBay or reddit.com/r/hardwareswap. 290 is probably overkill, but its a damn good card

Nah, that build is fine. Anything different I'd suggest would just be splitting hairs.
If you're gaming at 1080p, you might as well look for a used 280x.
Decent deal for $175: LINK
The 290s are going for $250 on eBay. If you were going 1440p, I'd recommend upping to that -- the cheaper ones on eBay have stock coolers, so they'll run hotter and/or louder. The biggest benefit would be the vram upgrade. While the overall performance improvement over a 280x is about 20% across general quality settings, there are noticeable enhancements in certain graphics settings at higher resolutions because of the extra vram capacity and wider bus.
