No one is paying $200 for a used 7870 though. Maybe for the PowerColor but that's about it.
You can get a R9 270X at Best Buy new off the shelf for like $220 if you can't find one on the web.

nope, that's why I offered $125(on more than one occasion). In 2 or 3 months from now they won't be worth more than 100. You could get them for $80 on hardware swap before November.

No, the entire PC and all components, I'm lumping it as one buy. Never bought a car, or house, or anything like that.

When I built I had bought a house but never a car.
If I get$150 then I'll get a 760. If I get lucky and get more I will get a 770. Either way...

So, what's a decent monitor? I just ordered everything else. Hopefully it won't get lost in the snow storm. And also, Bank of America was on me ordering this shite like white on rice.

I pay my CC off every month, it's just that there's never been any sort of charges for stuff like this on it, so they shut it down and made me confirm everything before I could continue.

Why would you sell that card and go for such a minimal upgrade?
Posted on 2/11/14 at 11:47 pm to bluebarracuda
I don't really have much reason to spend that much right now.

How often does that bstock from evga come in? The 770 I was interested in is already out of stock
Posted on 2/12/14 at 8:55 am to Mr Gardoki
Changes hourly, just keep checking.

How bad is the blower style cooling? Is it only really an issue when overclocking?
Posted on 2/12/14 at 9:02 am to LSU Coyote
Tax return is officially in, so the build begins. Show me the way of the master race!
Posted on 2/12/14 at 9:54 am to Mr Gardoki
Nvidia's blower cooling is light years better than AMD's. Plus their coolers look nice as hell too
Posted on 2/12/14 at 9:58 am to bluebarracuda
I'm not a big overclocker anyway so it should work then.

The blower isn't loud, but can get a little "loud" with a heavy load.
If you can, pick up a dual fan cooler, but you won't be disappointed with a blower. Like Blue said, they are lightyears ahead of AMD's shtty coolers.
EDT: Glad you're looking into the 680/770s. It will be one hell of an upgrade over a 7870 and really bring you into the "Master Race Realm".
