I assume that's the message when it's in the laptop.
What about when it's on your desktop in a cradle?

Yea it does in the disc manager but I haven't done that yet because I want the data off of it.

There are several days recovery tools available that will retrieve the data once the hdd is formatted.
Get data back ntfs is my go to, it's not free though.
The folks who make ccleaner make a pretty effective data recovery tool as well which is free.

OK. I have a disc scanner running now to see if I can get some of the data. I set it on deep scan which can take hours. Probably even worse on a 5400 RPM laptop drive. After that is finished I will format it and try it that way.

If all else fails, don't forget the freezer trick.

Although, of the five drives I've tried with that method, I was only able to recover half the data from one of them. The rest were a no go.

Yeah I was afraid it might be inactive. The naos looks fricking nice. Newegg had the naos 8200 on open box a few weeks ago for around $50

It's not quite inactive, there's just not much there and people post every 3-5 days.

I like my g500 too much to change, but I may grab it and use my g500 and quickfire for lans

Yeah, that's what I meant. Haha.

I'm the same way, I love my 2013 deathadder but I might try something else just not full time. Deathadder is the perfect shape for my hand.

The g500 has the same feel, but it has far more options than the death adder. It has an extra side button, changeable weight, and on the fly dpi adjustment

Absolute requirement for me ever since I bought the G500 a few years ago. I do like the changeable weight, but I just put the maximum in there. Did the same with my G9x.

Might have to invest in something if I ever get back into eve.

Until it's colder than ice cube in a Miller lite commercial and then immediately to the cradle and try to grab your files manually if it recognizes the drive

Yep, and keep in mind that if the freezer trick does work, you basically have about 5 minutes or less of working time before the drive warms up/thaws again, then back into the freezer it goes. So, go for the top priority files first.
