I would have taken Short before I took Hankins.

And the Seahawks are good at safety. They need a nickel back.

Dont take that as a shot at Mathieu, but no way Mathieus baggage and other questions get him drafted that high or drafted ahead of those guys

Seattle lost their nickel back from last year. Thurmond, their 4th CB is coming off of season ending knee surgery. Seattle also lost their punt returner - what two things does Mathieu do?

With the way of the NFL nowadays, getting guys that can cover in space as well as tackle around the LOS is imperative to a defense.

Open your eyes.

Mathieu dominated the best conference in America as a sophomore.

you can't justify that pick, just fyi.

Even though I was thinking about it in the 3rd round for the Bengals for shits and giggles

With that same theme, With the actual 58th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select...

I swear i checked the OP like 5 times to make sure he wasnt selected already...

Sam Montgomery DE LSU

The value on Montgomery here is too much to pass up on for the Patriots. Pats have a need for a situational Pass rusher that can take Spikes off the field (by putting Nink at Backer on 3rd down). Good overall scheme fit and would fit in great with the SEC heavy front 7 of the Pats (including fellow SEC crazy man Brandon Spikes). This First round talent is a coup at this point in the draft.

fricking right I can justify it.

And I already have by describing what Mathieu brings to the table and what the Seahawks needs are.

Great pick would be an awesome fit in NE. I contemplated hard between him and Okafor for my Miami pick.

You just think I am bro.

I laid out my thinking and logic behind the pick and the reasoning.

And also I think "first round talent" is falling because this draft is SO deep. Players that are going mid 2nd would go mid to late first in other drafts
