Vanderbilt athletics director David Williams cancelled the last two years of a contract with Wake Forest, which featured 2014 and 2015 games, since those scheduled season finales were no longer playable with Tennessee filling that final week. Last year, Vanderbilt backed out of the last two years of a contract with Northwestern that included 2013 and 2014 games.

Vanderbilt's schedule for 2014 is chickensh*t... Umass, Temple, Charleston Southern, and Old Diminion. At least Bobby Johnson wasn't scared to play good teams.

I'm sure they'll pawn this off on the SEC's screwed up scheduling, but every other SEC program has managed to not dodge quality non-conference BCS games.

Virginia Tech and Ohio State's future home-and-home series, scheduled for 2014 and 2015, got upgraded with the announcement that the game in Blacksburg will be held on Labor Day night.

Hokies athletic director Jim Weaver confirmed on Tech Talk Live! that the Buckeyes return trip to Blacksburg will take place in the ACC's now-coveted Labor Day primetime slot with ESPN. According to the school's website, the initial date for the 2015 contest was Sept. 19. Moving the date will likely require Virginia Tech to move or back out of their scheduled contest with Furman.

My favorite story from one of these body bag games was when a D1AA school forfeited a conference game against their D1AA for to play a D1A superpower and get blown out. ESPN made somewhat of a big deal out of it. Well guess what, someone has to pay for the third string girl's tiddlywinks player.
