Golf Board: Check Out Augusta National on Google Maps right now

Just happened to do this today, the current closeup overflight images show the course under repair and preparation. Fairways are sanded, there are canopies over several greens, all of the ponds are either covered or drained. Several greens are completely bare, lots of workers running around. I just thought it was a neat glimpse of what goes into making that course look so beautiful each spring.

Of course its not current. They dont update maps monthly, and no way in hell it looks like that two weeks before the tournament.

I know Bubba is there this week. Lots of players are showing up early to practice that aren't in the Shell.
My body is ready.

You can smell all the work that goes into the course. As beautiful as the tournament is it always smells like fertilizer and cow shite. Worth it though.

Bottom rightish. You can only barely see 12 green as it is covered by some trees.
ETA: not too far bottom and right though. Augusta Country Club is literally right next to Amen Corner.

Awesome
. Be sure to wear comfy shoes. That place is huge and the elevation change is more severe than it looks on TV.

Hey guys, my buddy got a hold to 2 Monday practice round tickets. For those who have been, is the practice round on Monday worth burning a couple vacation days for? A brief description of what to expect would be appreciated. I've never been to anything Masters related. Tia..

I haven't been to the practice rounds in a few years, but I go to the tournament every year. I think it is worth it. It is unlike any sporting event I have been to. Everyone is so excited to be there and there is a palpable excitement and buzz throughout the course. A beer is $2.50 for a domestic and $3.50 for import. Sandwiches are $1.50 to $2.00. The members and volunteers really cater to the patrons to make sure they have a great time. I think it is definitely worth it. I mean when is the next time you could have this opportunity, you know?
As far as practice rounds, it is more intimate than the tournament. You can bring cameras so that is a plus. The main leaderboard posts groups that are out on the course and what hole they're on so you can find who you want. The driving range is unbelievable and I've spent hours on hours watching people practice. Have fun!

It's definitely worth it. Monday is a much more relaxed day, go and drink beer, eat sandwiches, buy some gear, watch some golf, and then bounce out of town.
I usually hit the Hooters afterwards, it's typically where John Daly ends up and they will have all kinds of golf related things going on.
