seafood gumbo is good. Crabcakes are small and just ok. desserts are all good

ETA: consensus w/ my group was gumbo >>> turtle soup

I'll give you my top 5 things on their menu based on the two times I've been (once for lunch - 4 top .. once for dinner - 8 top / so I've tried many dishes for just two trips)

1. frog legs
2. trio of quail
3. short rib
4. death by gumbo
5. beef tartare

I liked the Sweetbreads App. Lobster Gnocchi sounds damn good.

Ah shite forgot we had that one. I'd put that over the tartare.

Guess I forgot. Was a while ago. May sound better than it tastes.

yeah I usually don't get too caught up with ordering lobster. i remember it was decent .. but the gnocchi wasn't cooked all that well.

The venison carpaccio sounds interesting...how was the tartare prepared? Chopped, ground?

had it. worst thing I ate. almost as boring and poorly executed as the bird in a cage.

Yum, traditional with purple onions, capers and an egg yolk? Pickled veggies?

and black truffle

it was really good.

as far as the carpaccio goes the nuts and chocolate just really threw it off. also the meat didn't have any real flavor to speak of .. which was surprising for venison.

have had beef carpaccio at Ruth's and Chophouse that were both infinitely better than Rev's version

from what I've seen it almost always has to do with service .. both here and on Yelp reviews I've read. also some people don't think the food lives up to the price tag, but I disagree with that.

it has its flaws, but I think it's a really solid restaurant.
