Gmorgan and you have some disagreement here.

Just a day or so ago, he explained that if my car were stolen, then I no longer could really claim ownership of the car. The person who has the car is now the owner.

Interestingly, when he said that, I thought, "wait, then taxation can't be theft under this view". Once they get the money, it aint yours anymore.

Now, I mean. I aint on board with that. But, it was the argument made.

If you steal my property, you've acknowledged that it's still mine. If I steal your money and own something because of that, it's still yours. So things that the government owns are still yours, even if the money was stolen, aren't they?

Yes, we have debated it before. Unfortunately he is wrong.

I don't agree with this.

If I steal $500 from you and buy a watch, you don't own the watch (And neither do I). You own the $500 that I traded.

Well, he is definitely holding contradictory views.

He can't complain about taxation being theft if he's also saying that having his car stolen makes it not his anymore.

He basically asserts that if he can't keep it from being stolen, then that's his problem. This, it would seem, should also apply to his income.

I agree with you.

Especially considering the NAP stems from the self-ownership axiom.

So who does own the watch? The person you bought it from?
