Has The Walking Dead become slightly boring to you?

I PROMISE no surprising fake spoilers this time. I come in peace.
But it seems this last half season has been mostly filler. It's become humans vs. humans with zombies sprinkled in. Hell they even deglamourized the zombie part of it by watering them down. Rarely do you see hordes of zombies. It's always a few in a critical situation and they handle them with ease.
Spoiler if you haven't watched all of the TV-released episodes:
The only real parts I've enjoyed are when the Governor attacks the prison, the walkers coming up on Michonne and Merle in last night's episode, and the Merle and Darryl scene at the end of the same episode. The rest has felt like filler. I enjoyed it more when they were on the road. Wondering where they will hide next. I understand some filler is necessary, but come on.
Overall though, I've still watched every episode. And usually can't wait for the next one to come out. So they must be doing something right.

It has never been about zombies. It has been about humans since day one

SPOILER FROM LAST NIGHT EPISODE.
Who would of thought the death of Merle would be such a sad scene. Damn dust from my ceiling fan was getting in my eyes, hahah.

It's been about humans dealing with the zombie apocalypse yes. And they still throw that in every once in a while. "Nothing is the same anymore." "You know what we have to do to survive".
But in the end they are safe inside the prison. Their only threat there is the Governor. Remember the days when they had to be quiet, or a swarm of walkers would roll up? Even when they are quiet, sometimes a horde would just, appear. Hell this is the first time since Lori's death that a big death has happened.

Season 2 was slow as well. The good stuff made up for it (the barn, Shane's death/zombie/re-death scene).
I'm hoping for a solid Season 3 ending.

More than slightly. Season 3 lost me.

Yes. I'm bored.
The governor is lame. Extremely lame. Because of this, everyone around his storyline has to try too damn hard to compensate for his inept ability to be a villain.
We've gotten too much of Andrea, not enough of Milton, and a half-assed version of an apocalyptic army.
When the governor is gone (I'm scared he will survive the finale), the show will hopefully be more interesting and more about survival and less about the writers' weak ability to create tension amongst characters.

It has been a slower season. I think they are focused too much on the Governor and his people rather than Rick and his crew. I don't have a doubt in my mind that Woodbury will continue to be part of the equation. There is too much going on in there to wrap it up in one hour episode. I am still loving this show. Can't wait for the finale.

That right there shows that they are still humans dealing with the ZA. In an apocalyptic world nowhere is safe and humans are the biggest threat. Rick and the gang are just now coming to terms with that.

people don't get this. It's a shame more fans haven't read the source material. I mean it's graphic novels. easy reading.
It makes so much more sense then.
The term walking dead refers to the survivors. As they are infected and will become zombies, but until then they are "The walking dead"

You may be right, as I haven't read the graphic novels (I plan to soon). But wouldn't it also be correct to give this name to zombies? They walk, and they are dead.

I get this but they do a real good job of making this hard to see since, you know, the dead area also walking.

That's the point of the whole story

That's the point. Realizing the truth of the story is a big part of the experience

Clever pun is clever.

I get that. I understand that angle, but it's just being done poorly.
The Governor is lame. His accent sucks. His ability to be maniacal sucks. His henchman suck. His scientist sucks but only because he hasn't been used correctly. His ideas suck. Andrea sucks.
That's why it's boring. The writers have done a TERRIBLE job with season 3. The pacing is off. The characters have awful dialogue, and the action seems forced.

The initial point we all went in with WAS that. Everyone who first sees "The Walking Dead" immediately implies the name is about the walking dead zombies. Even in the show they are called Walkers. But as most movies and shows and episodes of shows will reveal the title at one point. In season one of the show and in book twenty-four or five Rick says "We are the Walking Dead"
The the aspect of the show and books makes more sense. What sets TWD apart from every other zombie movie or show. Is it isn't about just the zombie apocalypse. It is about day to day living and survival in the apocalypse.
People are your greatest fear, Zombies are a mindless constant. But easy to figure out.
People can outsmart you. People want what you have to survive.
Zombies don't WANT to kill you, they are just driven by hunger. People want to kill you for 'evil' means.
Everyone who is 'alive' is already dead in many ways.

It got bad in Season 2, and this season has been unwatchable. I'm 2 behind and doubt I'll ever catch back up. I'll probably set my DVR to stop recording them.
