Have been watching youtube videos on spring practice and i noticed him not running with the 1's.... I figured it was an injury until i recently read an article that showed he wasn't in the starting line up. I know its extremely early but why would he not be listed in the starting line up??

thanks

I think the real question is why would he be listed in the starting line up?

It's still very early. I wouldn't put much stock into who is running with the ones and twos right now. They know he and Turner work well together....probably just trying to see what guys like Hawkins and Pocic can do.

The only starting lineup that will matter is on August 31st.

It's practice... That's the point. To try people out with different formations/lineups. Put no stock into practice line ups.

Maybe because he started the last half of last year. Who do you think is taking his place?

This is the current 1st team OL with everyone healthy, yes. Things could still shake up from now till August though.

Didn't someone say Alexander was late to a meeting or to pracice one day? I assumed he was only running with the 2's for one day as punishment.

Hawkins is a better pass protector & will fit better in Cam's system.

Based on what?

Pure speculation. Vadal had issues with pass protection last year and Collins went from 325 to 310 to enable him to handle speed rushers at LT.

Hawkins is a lighter quicker OL and Cam may prefer him at RT, IMHO.

Vadal looked good with the run block. He weighs like 350lbs? Needs to shed some pounds for quickness.

Vadal was good enough to start as a true freshman last year, though there were some injuries to the projected starters that gave him that chance.

You are right, it probably would help Vadal if he shed some pounds before next season starts.

According to reports, Hawkins is running with the 1's at RT, this may be meant to motivate Vadal to shed the weight.

Agree that he was great at run blocking last year.

Him and collins both lost weight. Vadal got hurt before the bowl game. Didnt practice much, and gained weight. He will be fine.
