How much improvement can we reasonably expect from year one to year two?

I think he can be 63+% next year...but he would certainly have to work on it.
Here are his monthly shooting totals:
October: 5-6 83%
November: 17-27 63%
December: 16-30 53%
January: 9-24 39%
February: 10-17 58%
March: 2-5 40%
Total: 59-108 56%
Overall

there should be no reason he can't shoot at least 65%. so reasonably, i say 65%. he needs to sit his arse at the stripe this summer and do whatever it takes to get his mind right for three throws.

I don't follow the Hornets so I had no idea he was that terrible.
There is no reason any NBA player, any person that isn't disabled for that matter, shouldn't be able to shoot 80% with some practice. I watched him when he was in college and the dude was a baller...that just amazes me!

On Rivers improvement, with his right hand in a cast his left hand should be getting work daily. It might be a huge blessing in disguise.

This is my point. Guys with huge hands are understandable but this crap is inexcusable. Especially for a coaches boy. AAU and travel ball is killing the basics of the game. What is so hard about lining your shooting/release forearm and foot dead center of the rim and releasing straight away. If you are right handed, you scoot to the left and lefties reverse. After that should be perfecting the strength of the release. I did this with many small kids in city leagues and was not worried about the smallest/weakest one being ok at free throws. I see guys lined up center mast and missing too many shots.

It's inexcusable that a coach's son, especially a guard, can't shoot free throws better.

I never knew his free throw percentage until now. Good gawd o mighty 56%. He better get that up and soon. Before you know it teams gonna start executing the hack-a-rivers

70% is reasonable.

dude, the average NBA player shoots 76% from the line. it's not like it's a gimme. if Rivers can get up to 70% next season, that would be incredible.
