Takes 5 minutes for officials to make a decision. None of the plays are dirty, and the defenders can do whatever they want. Just face guard without consequences, crowd the ball handler without any repercussions. fricking ridiculous.

And people wonder why scoring is down. Officials are just allowing teams to mug offensive players and then call a flagrant on them when they try to create space.

it's not the officials at fault, though. it's the rule. the rule is stupid.

If you are talking about the Marquette game, that should not have been a flagrant foul. Intent should matter, and on a review, you can tell if there was intent.

I'll one up you and say the inconsistency of the block/charge call has done more to cause issues then the Flagrant 1 even though I agree it's a stupid rule.

It is a terrible, terrible rule.

All because of the Manny Harris/Chris Kramer incident.

Not just the Marquette game. McDermott yesterday too. And there have been several no calls after 5 minute reviews.

But I have been hating this rule for a while. First instance I saw was in the 2011 ACC championship where Andre Dawkins picked one up while making a freaking lay-up. It has become more prevalent since, especially this week,

The game of college basketball is basically unwatchable to me sans a few "elite" teams.

Hell, I can barely stomach watching my own team for 5 minutes before I find myself turning the channel.

It's a good rule. You can't make room with your elbow, and it was one of the most under called fouls.

The problem is the defender also has to give room for the player to rotate the ball. That's being completely ignored in these cases.

What's amazing is you can hack the shite out of offensive players in the tourney but in the reg season everyone on your team would foul out

Amen. Defenders sliding under players already in the air all tourney long and getting the charge call.

In almost every instance, the offensive player is heavily restricted from making natural movements.

Offensive players need to swing the elbow down, not up. it's an easy way to make rooms and a avoid these calls
