Shepard had no WR skills coming out of high school. Part of the reason why Noil got bumped to a five star was that he showed that he could get good separation and catch as a WR.

Only thing is they both played QB in HS.. To catch in a camp, and to catch in the SEC with SEC Dbacks on you in another story..

The difference is, Speedy was a wide receiver who was converted to quarterback. Shep was a qb the entire time.

Catching is just a pretty fundamental thing. Either you can or cant on a consistent basis. Having someone guarding you is not a catching issue it becomes a separation issue.
