Maybe it's different listening without seeing? Don't know. If she'd have pushed it a few times, it would have shown her control more, I would think.

1st guy was good, not great but good.
Raspy chick... I agree with Adam, she needed a little more control. You can do the Xtina tonal gymnastics, but they need to make sense within the song. She seemed to just be doing them to do them. Good voice but lacks a sense of direction (kind of what I would be if I had a good singing voice )

She's ultra cute! I like her voice, but I hate when people (mostly women from what I see on the show) do strange pronunciations. I think I would have liked her performance better had she not done that. I look forward to hearing her without the nervousness.

this young hot chick was the best singer of the season by far to me.
and the guy who sang usher was pretty good and barely even got picked in the last 5 seconds.
carson pulled off 2 super douche moves so far this episode already. when the usher guy gets picked,carson starts pounding his dad on the shoulders. The family doesn't even respond or look at Carson so he runs to the back of them like he's so excited he just gotta run!! Then he told the guy "you're family got all excited but i told them just chill and wait ten seconds, bro. Now lets do a weird secret handshake turned into a man hug thing together."
Then he rings it in with his arm ala Kirk Gibson after his Eckersly homer when wynonna judd gets picked.

I knew the moment the guy said he danced that he wasn't going to make it. Dancers always over do the dancing and get out of breath, thus losing their breath/tone/whatever. It's called "The Voice", not "The Dance".

Good lord, yes!
The Sasha chick, good voice but I don't see her making it to even the quarter finals. She doesn't seem to have that ultra special something that makes a good voice into a great voice.

these singing shows need to fill 50% of their roster spots with black mothers of 3 or gay black dudes singing gospel style versions of whitney houston

Good call. He should have gone with something that allows for real expression, he didn't really have a spot in that song to shine.
And he was a little pitchy at times.
