Is there anything I can place in my mailbox that will keep these stingers away?

You need to have a door on it. I'm assuming it's a rural mailbox?

"Tempo" will stop dirt daubers from nesting and also works on spiders. Has a long residual but I've never tried it on wasps as in the paper wasps or watever they're called.
