Meh. Capital One needs to market their cards better. That sounds like cheap crap.

The only reason I would get a Cap One card is to have an LSU card in my wallet

Well, after some phone finagling I got this card this morning. After reading up on the flexibility of the points I decided to try it out. Might wait a few months and get the Chase Freedom to take advantage of those 5% categories and then roll the points into the UR program. Anything else, I think I'll put on the Cap One guaranteeing 2% at all times.

Pretty exciting to know that 40,000 points puts you real close to a free ticket to what looks like South America or Europe on United.

I hear this a lot, but I travel maybe 3 - 5 times a year on various airlines (Usually Delta, United, US Airways)out of MSY and rarely hit much in the way of delays or problems since I don't check bags. I'm guessing the more you fly the more warts you'll see.

I have low standards for these trips anyways. Don't crash.
