bump.
finished the build. the CPU is a virtual guarantee to unlock into the phenom II x4 b50 black as AMD was binning those units to meet gaps in the market, not because they were faulty units.

You'll be able to upgrade the CPU and the GPU in the future as well, since another gen of AM3+ chips have been announced by AMD. I run something similar to that build and it easily handles skyrim on high/ultra in 1080p

I had a free Cyrsis 3 code with this 7950.. I see who isn't getting it.

Also wtf, the game codes from AMD came on a attach off? Good luck I didn't throw it away.

I am dissappointed but I have been busy. I have had just enough time to post little comments but not enough to build.

if you wanted to go to $800 id just swap the mobo out for a better AM3+ board and swap the cpu out with the FX8350.

The 8350 runs right at $200 ($130 increase) and we can spend another $50-70 on the motherboard

i was going to offer him $600. i was just wondering if this would be sufficient for several years of use. the way i see it is that gamers that build their own use the better parts than the major manufacturers and i would get more for my money if i bought one from a gamer.

so this used one would work?

@600 yeah
@800 no

eta: though im not really in love with his build. 6GB of 1333 ram? must have been thrown in with the board for free or something.
