Drussila Hushpuppy recipe...any ideas

I seem to remember them having a little bacon and green onion. I have tinkered and tinkered with my standard recipe but can't get it right. Any suggestions.

I don't remember bacon. There's green onion, salt, sugar and a bit of red pepper, I believe.

I think their recipe has changed over the years. In the past they seemed a little less dense. Perhaps they were adding some bacon drippings into the batter and it just happened to have some small pieces if bacon in it.

I don't know about the recipe, but they have one of the best hushpuppies around. Jones Creek Cafe has some good ones too.
