Learning from their mistakes, that's why the B1G is so academically gifted

And Missouri in the East isn't?

Cause that's the same thing as dumb division names.

Rutgers would be placed in a division along with Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and either Indiana or Purdue.

The "West" division would consist of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin and either Purdue or Indiana.
I'm sure Nebraska is dancing today.

Nice. Three of four historic powers plus a solid Mich State program in one division. Seems fair.

Good Point, but wasn't the reason to try and maintain the conference's 100 rivalry games (ok, UMvOSU mainly). How does suddenly adding two teams suddenly solve this?

But say they put Indiana in the "East" division, imagine that in basketball season. Michigan, Mich. St., OSU, Indiana, and Maryland in one division.

Its questionable whether Penn State is still a power, Wisconsin is going to stronger for the foreseeable future

I doubt we'd use divisions for basketball, usually they just do a round robin for it.

And where will Notre Dame go when the ACC collapses and everyone tells it to join a conference?

I don't think they will have divisions in hoops. I think OSU and Michigan should be in the same division, but I disagree with VB about the powers here. Pedo St. will be back contending in 4 or 5 years and I believe a lot of signs show Wisconsin is going to fall off of the shelf. They will have to flip over PSU for balance and go back to Leaders/Legends type stuff.

Once that stuff blows over, they'll be back in position to return to where they were given the program's support, money, and location.

Even if Wisconsin stays at the same level, which isn't guaranteed, it's still just them, Nebraska, and Iowa every 4th year being good in the West. That's horribly unbalanced.

Please shift Indiana to the West or that division will be insane for basketball.

Are people assuming they'd have divisions for basketball?

We both know that that's temporary.
