You thought it was a passing league before? Now that teams can get penalized when a RB lowers his head to get more yards, they will pass even more.

I don't think they will. I think the NFL will change this rule back soon.

...I hope

Hellllo Rugby! (as in I'm looking forward to watching the New Orleans Voodoo Rugby team instead of the Saints on sundays.)

Ball carriers will just need to go for the facemask more now... No rule against that yet.

I think football should reduce the use of plastic and use other pads.

True form tackles and people won't use their body as a weapon. The plastic is just getting lighter and harder=more violent hits.

Rugby players put their head down.

Sean Payton said they weren't "exactly" in favor of it. I wonder what exactly meant.

Bengals only team voting against it. Pretty sure coaches/players were nearly unanimously against it.

Tony Dorsett made a good comment on the rule last night here on the local news, basically saying that a defender can come in, head down looking to hit you as hard as they can while all the running back can do is stand up straight and hope they don't get hurt

NFL players who don't like this rule (and many of the other rules meant to benefit player safety) can thank their NFL predecessors, who are suing the league.
