T-Mac: Rockets winning streak of 22 games was more impressive than Heat's streak

Tracy McGrady, who played on the previous NBA team to win 22 straight games, says the streak his 2007-2008 Houston Rockets went on was more impressive than the Miami Heat's 22-game streak.
"I'm enjoying watching because of the unknown," McGrady, by text, said of the Heat's run. "But the way we did it was a lot harder. Having Yao [Ming] go out [due to injury] around the 12th game and Dikembe [Mutombo] filling his role was huge for our team. And we didn't have three guys making $100 million."
During their season, All-Stars McGrady and Yao led a good-but-not-great Houston club to 12 straight victories. But Yao broke his left foot in the 12th game, leaving 41-year-old Mutombo to step into the starting lineup at center. The Rockets continued to roll, though, winning 10 more times before losing to Boston on March 18, 2008, without the level of talent of "three guys making $100 million" -- referring to Miami's LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Last time I checked, 23 > 22.
I wouldn't expect T-Mac or anyone on that Rockets' team, aside from Battier, to say anything different.

I don't really think he's wrong. It was more impressive for that team to win 22 than it is for the Heat to win 23 because the Heat are a MUCH more talented team.

Why is everyone so impressed with the heat? hmmm

I honestly think you are just a troll. Because no one can be as clueless as you are when it comes to NBA matter.

It was more difficult in the sense that the Rockets had to accomplish it with Tracy McGrady as their top player.

My thoughts exactly. The Rockets were throwing out there night in and night out a bunch of role players because of injuries. What the Heat are doing is one of the more impressive things Ive seen in a while, in the manner of beating times in all ways. Hope they put a good challenge up for the record.

Well he's right.
Houston's was more impressive....and surprising because of the injuries.
But the Heat's is much more entertaining.

Holy shite. A guy on the Rockets team that won 22 straight games thinks it was tougher then the streak the Heat are currently on? Who would have thunk it? lol

Because they are awesome and will win a bunch of NBA titles.

Sure the Rocket's was more impressive, but only because they weren't really any good and got bounced in the 1st round once the playoffs started.
However, the Heat's streak has not ended yet and is not going to end any time soon.

I agree to an extent. The rockets needed that 22 game steak just to make the playoffs. Before that they were almost a lock to be a lottery team. They had the pressure to keep winning just to make the playoffs while having a bunch on injuries and roster full of role players. If you remember in the western conference that year winning 50 games was the minimum needed to make the playoffs.
One would think winning that many games in a row would put you in first or second in the league or your conference. That wasn't the case. Heck miami 23 game winning streak has them up only 1 game over the spurs for the best record in the league.

I agree with this.

The important detail is that Yao, the Rockets' best player, missed half the streak because of injury.

imagine how long that streak could've have went on if Tracy hadn't soaked up all of the Rockets salary....
whoever got this statement from Tracy should've asked him that.

That doesn't make any sense.
