Would be a solid FA signing for a new backup QB who can actually play decent. I can see the Cardinals putting up the most fight

I agree. However, if he only goes down for a few games then a quality backup would be big.

USA Today reports the Colts are already in discussions with free agent Matt Hasselbeck to make him their backup quarterback.
Mike Garafolo says the two sides "could soon agree" to a deal. Hasselbeck, 38 in September, isn't interested in finding a team where he can compete for a starting job, but a place where he has a shot to get back to the playoffs.
