South of Shreveport, but North of Coushatta. 2 to 5 foot deep (jig every stump or log along the bank like the ones in the gator pic), you got to play with the colors. I've been catching them on one color, but it was cloudy this morning. I switched and it turned on instantly. I can't elaborate too much more on color...

I was catching one about every 15 to 20 minutes...

Nice perchaulait. I wish I could get into them up here but I haven't found the secret weapon yet.

Fought the wind Saturday and hit some of the old spawning grounds we've caught on in the past looking for Perch and only found a few bass. Contacts up north in Jeems are just now starting to catch them decent on yo-yo's so hopefully it will pick up. Bass were already bedded up and saw some nice ones when the wind let up enough.

Man I tried the perch on Caddo. Fished a half a day and caught 1. Went to the river doing the same thing and started catching them...

The perch have spawned and are headed back out feeding. The bass are on the beds hard.

Also, cue tigerpinmpnation with a 1987 polaroid of some white perch he caught...

We caught 31 Saturday fishing out of the Grand Encore launch. Found both deep and shallow tight on structure.

Nice catch. I've never had good luck locating perch on the river.

No doubt on the bass. On the perch, I can't see how they would have spawned out already. Contacts I have fish the lake 3-4 times a week and haven't gotten into any yet to speak of until last week. The previous 3 weeks the water temp was way down with the cool weather, unless you think they got up there in February?

I've just always heard the perch spawn first. I've cleaned 26 since Saturday and only one had eggs. I cleaned 6 bass and 4 had eggs...

Like I said, something weird is going on on Caddo. Like you I went to some traditional spots and all but blanked last Thursday. I think there just aren't as many as usual for some reason this year on Caddo.

Water temp today was between 66 and 68 degrees...

Not sure. Maybe the low water the last two years had a bad year class or two of fish. I know the yo-yo catch has been weird the last couple of years. One group I talk to caught 92 one night about three or so weeks back but it was only good that night with small size and he caught only 2 the next night. I'm thinking about hitting Big Green where the water is a little deeper out towards the big lake later this week if it's not blowing or just going to a couple of holes on the river. Lots of people were fishing shallow last weekend on Caddo and I didn't witness a single perch caught around us.
