I'm unfair and I'll admit it because he costed brees the record on that open TD catch he would make 99/100 times. Seems like him and welker like dropping catches they would normally make lately lol

Didn't say it was. But I feel like lots of guys could do what he does because of our QB. It also wouldn't hurt to get some transcendent talent eventually to help him out. Outside of Brees, the guards, Jimmy and maybe Colstons we ddon't exactly have a ton of guys on the roster that most teams in the league would truly covet at this point in their careers.

Fair? Atlanta has Roddy White and Julio Jones. With Tony Gonzalez for good measure.

The Saints have Marques Colston and Lance Moore Come on. That pair doesn't rank in the top 15 WR combos in the NFL. Maybe not top 20.

If it wasn't for Jimmy Graham it'd look even worse.

Personally think Austin is going to be a star and a tough one to pass up for any team regardless of need

Brees threw 5 fricking picks that game and was just all around terrible. He didn't deserve to extend it after that performance. Brees "costed" himself the record (assuming Brady breaks it).

i blame brees too. I don't think he deserves to have it. Remember the rams game? I don't think he deserved the extend it then, but it would've been nice if he could have!

Just to clarify, the guys in this thread saying we need more talent at WR...do they want us to draft Austin?

Over Mingo?

Absolutely.

In all seriousness though. Not really, I'd rather a bigger true number 1 type wr. But everyone overreacting about potentially going offense is pretty hilarious.

Depends on who is available. If Lane Johnson or Jarvis Jones are there, I'd absolutely draft them. I'm not high on any of the OT's or OLB's (Mingo) that will likely be there.

I'd also prefer Vaccaro, but it's a really deep safety class. Sheldon Richardson would be someone I'd think about if he's there, but that's not likely. Demontre Moore feels like more of a 4-3 LDE than a 3-4 DE or OLB, even though I know he played the latter.

So if it's between, say, Mingo, Moore, Vaccaro, and Austin, I'd take Vaccaro first, but would be OK with Austin since the safeties available will be better than the WR's available.

Perfect scenario for us is someone like the Vikings trading up with us to get Austin. Then we drop back, hopefully pickup a second rounder and are able to take Nuk Hopkins who would be an absolute gem in this offense.

I've said many times I want a pass-rusher before him. Or one of the top 3 OTs. Or a legit NT.

Or pursue trade options at that point.

...as of now, I don't think any of these teams have a significantly better receiving corps than the Saints:

Bills
Ravens
Panthers
Browns
Jaguars
Chiefs
Vikings
Redskins
Patriots
Jets
Raiders
Steelers
Rams

So top 15 receiving corps is fair, but we have a top pass-catching TE and RB on the team. It doesn't matter if they're listed as "WR".

I agree that we're getting older and past Colston and Moore, there are a lot of question marks. However, Graham and Sproles are high reception players in this offense, so I don't see WR as a need....not to mention Joe Morgan coming on strong.

...not against taking BPA though if Austin happens to be that.

I don'thate them . I went to LSU. I just think the 2 usually mentioned aren't worth drafting where we're projecting them.
