I'm not a huge cake fan, but I love red velvet cake. So, I got to thinking, how else can I use red velvet. Yesterday we made red velvet waffles for breakfast and red velvet cookies for dessert. Both were great

Sandwhich cookies.....my favorite

Anyone else ever experiment with red velvet?

I don't get it. So you love red food coloring? Other than that there's no real flavor difference between.

Red Velvet is about as cool as married women who hyphenate their last name.

Red velvet has buttermilk and cocoa powder which makes it a tasty cake IMO. Not my favorite but solid when properly executed

Oh okay. So RV cake is the only cake whose recipe includes buttermilk and/or cocoa powder?

I agree, the cake is delicious, the need for the red food coloring baffles me. You could always use a little beet juice to get the same effect. But is a king cake a king cake without all the colored sugar sprinkles on top? I would say yes.

My day is pretty good. It's warm outside.

I was going to say red velvet cake or girl scout cookies might make your day better if it wasn't good, but it doesn't sound like that would help.
