The fight has officially been brought to my front door
Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and dyfs are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe.
I'm instantly on my way. I get in contact with evan Nappen on the way. I explain the situation. I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of em outside. Dyfs got a call because of a pic on my son holding a gun. They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered. Obviously that didn't go well because I refused. I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing. I didn't budge. I was told I was being "unreasonable" and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn't open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead. Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the dyfs workers name. she wouldnt give it. i asked for credentials and she wouldnt show em. i tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away. After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing.
People it can happen that fast. Most people wouldn't have stood up to them like I did.

The picture that started it...

They never even saw the picture. It was all hear say. Just a phone call saying someone saw a pic of a child holding a gun.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket! It's pretty strange that she refused to give a name! Hopefully more people will stand up to this bullshite!

You need to know your rights like that guy did and stand up for yourself.
Many people would have folded, like they seemed to have expected. Kudos to shawnmoore81.

The only way stuff like this will stop is documented accounts and then lawsuits after the fact. I bet if his lawyer wasn't on the other line as a witness his odds of heading to jail and losing his guns were better than 50/50 that night...

Evidently he wasn't home.
The key statement in that article is "I was told I was being "unreasonable" and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn't open my safe."
This is the same BS line used time and time again to justify weakening other rights. People use the excuse that if you don't have anything to hide then you shouldn't have a problem infuriates me. Constitutional rights aren't there to protect criminals, they are there to protect everyone and this type of violation really irritates me.

They will tell you BS all day long to get you to fold.

I must have good Facebook friends. I have a clip on my page of my 7 yr old shooting that same weapon. No popos at the Wales residence just yet.
Also have a pic of him shooting my M&P 22.

That shite is scary. Good for him for not being bullied. The fact that they would not show him any credentials is very disturbing as well.

I have the clip in my email. Just forwarded it to LSP.
This shite is so stupid. Lets report a guy because he's trying to show his son how to safely operate a gun.
frick the cops for trying to intimidate him for not allowing them inside his safe. This is ridiculous.

This is a great reminder that any proposed legislation regarding gun storage, mandatory trigger locks, etc.. should be just as vigorously opposed as weapon bans and mag restrictions. Any such laws would result in visits like this for all of us, and there won't be anything we can do about it.

This is one of the reasons i won't post anything on facebook now.
I would want to know who the hell called the DYFS as well. Then I'd beat the ever liven hell out of them.
