I think it's generally known through out town that the sound there is terrible and not really a desirable place to see live music... I agree that HOB's sound is way better, though I'm not a fan of the venue for other reasons...

all i'm saying is that sugar mill is a good music venue for new orleans excluding management, the line to get in, douchy, etc. the building itself could accomodate some major acts that are too big for the house of blues. it has the same shitty acoustics as the howling wolf but it's bigger. my point is that nolas never had a good venue or ever will so we have to settle for shite bad acoustics sometimes. I'm out.

Howling wolf has better sound than the sugar mill imo. Too much metal and concrete at the sugar mill for sound to bounce off of. Plus the room is a cavern.

Did you notice that the venues only event booked was the shakes?

The booker is the former booker of tips that got fired.

No doubt. The sugar mill is known for having the worst sound for a big venue in nola

Damn, when I was reading HW, I was thinking of the old location. I think it's now Republic.

The old space was a great place to catch bands, especially when it was smaller, before expansion...

Still need an amphitheater though. St Tammany Parish is ideal.
