I wanted to see it the moment Ben told Rosseau to take Alex there but the end result left much to be desired. It was just the writers eating up time.

I think I would have enjoyed it much more long term if they would have ended it on some sort of cliffhanger like they had for just about every previous episode

Dear Lord no. The ending was beautiful and really gave a sense of closure to the series. If they ended on some sort of ambiguous cliffhanger it would've taken a lot of luster off the show IMO.

Same here. Watching it live I was like "man this storyline sucks. This place is stupid", but shotgunning episodes now it's a lot more manageable. And I mean it does serve a purpose, being a "safe place" where MIB can't get to. I do still think it was kind of fillerish to have these weird characters like Dogen that have supposedly been here for a while that we see for like 7 episodes then they're gone. What the hell have those people been doing in the temple for decades?

I know how you feel and I probably would have been pissed if they had done it at the time. I just know that what drove this show a lot was the discussion and speculation of what everything meant from the fans and it would have been fun to have a little up in the air. Nothing too extreme but something similar to the ending of Inception

seems to me that if I were going to create a world around me, I'd probably make it a happy existence

Sparked from the PoI thread comment about Holloway...

Does any one else hate it when they called him James? I know that's his name but in the latter seasons most of the characters, especially Kate and Juliet called him James and it drove me nuts. Jack and Sayid almost always called him Sawyer though. James always felt forced.

Maybe I was/am too invested and picky about stupid things in this show

And there's your answer. They're females, they have to connect emotionally and shite. Just like females IRL probably don't call your bros by whatever nicknames they go by.

Probably true. Locke did too though.

Anyway, real plot question... Ben was saved by the others, presumably in the temple water when it was still clear. But when did Ben go back and become part of the Dharma? I know he was in contact with Richard obviously leading up to the purge. Am I forgetting something or are we to assume Ben just marched back into Dharmaville as a healthy kid after being shot?

This was my case until the last 3 days (finished last night). I thought the Temple was 100x more bearable this time around.

It's all more bearable upon rewatch, because you don't have weeks/months between episodes to read and discuss all the possible angles and shite and hear all the theories. Presented as a straightforward plot, it actually makes much more sense than some people like to give it credit for.

I remember rewatching it and not having near the same questions (or amount of questions) as I did the first time through. And it was great not having them...made the ride that much more enjoyable.

Of course he did. His dad went by Sawyer too and I doubt he wants to keep thinking about him.
