She used the word "push" but what she described was "see."

Instead of two gay guys, what if it had been two white women sitting next to each other and when they turned to see the husbands at the bar, one was white the other was black? Would that be "pushing" interracial marriage? What if all four people had been white? Would that have been "pushing" heterosexuality?

So, how should your neighbor go about not throwing it in your face that he is a heterosexual married man with kids? Should he buy a separate residence for his wife and send the kids to boarding school? If he returns from a vacation and you casually ask about his trip, should he pretend he went alone so as to not throw it in your face that he actually went with his wife and kids? Should he avoid being seen in public with his wife so that it doesn't get thrown in people's faces that they are married? On the rare occasions when he is seen in public with her, should he introduce her as his "friend" or "cousin" in order not to throw it in people's faces that they are really husband and wife? Just how should heterosexual married people go about not throwing it in people's faces that they are heterosexual married people?

Or, was that not what was bothering you? Oh, I get it. You are fine with your heterosexual neighbor throwing his sexuality and marriage in your face, you just don't want those icky gay people to be able to live with the same level of openness and comfort. Right?

The media tries to push heterosexual loving on everyone all the time. What's the problem?

FWIW...heterosexual relationships play a major role in most people's existence. I'm not sure about the rest.

Being gay is not being black.

Gayness is not a civil right regardless of what you would like to believe.

Yes. Have you seen the new "Kindle" commercial? Makes me want to get an iPad instead.

I think the original O.P. had to do with the disproportionate media coverage that gays get and the abundance of gay topics reported for a group that makes up such a small portion of society. You, of course, had to resort to the absurd to try an make a point.

Interesting that you can't see the difference between color and sexuality. People are born a color. People choose to be gay. These two issues will never be the same.

No, it was exactly the same. The point is that EVERYONE throws their sexuality in people's faces simply by living their lives normally and freely. It's ridiculous to expect one group to avoid doing so.

It is not disproportionate. You just notice the gay stuff more because you don't like gay people. The presentation of sexuality in the media is overwhelmingly heterosexual. It's just not exclusively heterosexual like it used to be. Deal with it.

I think this is WILDLY overstating it if all one has to do is point to anything and call it media coverage. As Nuts said...if simply seeing a gay couple equals pushing their agenda, do you mean to tell me that there are not 95%+ of people seen on TV that are heterosexual? Think of all the various shows and characters. It doesn't stand out because it's considered normal...it blends into the background.

Two guys holding hands stands out...

When did you choose to be straight? Did you like boys and girls equally and then decide you'd go the girl route and then lose your attraction to boys...or are you still attracted to men but just choose to have sex with women as part of your lifestyle choice?

FWIW, I was never attracted to boys...so I didn't chose anything. Seems odd that only gay folks choose their sexuality while the rest of us "normal" people are just wired that way.

The U.S. Supreme Court has said you're wrong. Homosexual conduct is a fundamental civil right according to its rulings. No state can make it illegal. Now that you've lost that argument and it's been decided that people have a right to be homosexual, the only question still undecided is whether they have the same right as heterosexuals to the benefits of marriage. Inevitably, you will lose that argument, too.

I'm sick of all of the media's tolerance crap.

I don't care one bit about the fricking social issues. Tell me what these jackasses we have in office are doing.

How do you know they were not born that way?

There are other species on earth that participate in homosexual behavior.
