I believe there is a tv show called "Dallas" i'm guessing the name of the episode is JR killed in mexico and Jerry jones and Mark cuban are going to cameo in it.

Back in the 80s there was a big cliffhanger called "Who shot JR" after a season of the TV series Dallas ended. It was a big ad campaign

IMO, his death may have saved the Dallas redo for a short period. People will tune in to uncover the mystery, just to see how they ended up killing him off. Before this, the Dallas redo had already jumped the shark.
