Just watched the commercial where TW plays a salesman in a sporting goods store.

Jack can't hold Tiger's cue cards.

how can you really believe this. technology has given players with marginal talent the ability to compete at the highest level. just look at how many tours there are around the world today.

Tiger is/was NOT a trend setter like the people before him.........FACT........

This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever seen written on these forums. Tiger has changed golf for the better.

Jack's competition compares to modern day men's tennis. Three men (Nadal, Federer, Djoka) basically win all of the slams.

But in golf's, there's been +12 different major winners in the last few years and over 20 different major winners the last 10 years.

If TW only had (Harrington, Mickelson, Vijay, and Els) to worry about, he'd be over 20 majors now. He beat those guys regularly.

But his close misses in the majors (where he finished 2nd) happened against lower ranked players.

2009 PGA - Yang
2008 Masters - Immelman
2007 Master - Zach Johnson
2007 US Open - Cabrera
2005 US Open - Michael Campbell
2002 PGA - Beem

The depth of the field is what makes TW wins even more remarkable. The +50th ranked player can and do win majors in golf.

Hey PJ, why does it make you so mad that Tiger is GOAT? Don't you understand the game of golf?

FINE. That
just proves my point that TIGER is nowhere NEAR the golfer compared to Jack........ If it was that easy TIGER would have 30 majors by now..........

Well didn't Nicklaus finish 2nd in a major 15 times plus his wins?

People like to forget that stat.

Look at the list of major winners from 1962-1980 and tell me you know more than 12 golfers.

I've read that back in the day, the barometer for GOAT in golf was total tour wins but they changed it to majors when it was apparent that Nicklaus wouldn't overtake snead in total wins.

Jack has 18 majors + 2 US Amateurs = 20 total majors

TW has 14 majors + 3 US Amatuers + 3 US Jr Amateurs = 20 total majors

They're tied.

Tiger isn't the goat Yet. It kills me to agree withPeej but he is right.

Until Tiger breaks the wins record and/or majors he can't be there.

Plus I just looked it up 19 runner ups in Majors makes the case for Nicklaus stronger.
