I don't think it is head and shoulders above other steak restaurants.

Their BBQ shrimp is good. I'll be in the minority but I did not love the strip. I will probably get a ribeye next time. Love the restaurant though.

Let's see. It was very good.

BBQ Shrimp App - Very good. Needed some heat, but great flavor. Mr. B's is still #1.

Wife has the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp. It was ok, nothing special.

Lettuce Wedge was just that. Normal, good lettuce wedge from a steak restaurant.

Wife and I split the porterhouse. Steak was ordered medium rare and came out medium. Very good steak though, but have had better.

We shared the cream spinach and it was the best I've ever had. Fantastic.

Dessert - Tirumasu. Awesome.

Overall B+.

Probably the best Pittsburgh style steak in the city.

God I love that place.

I had 1 last week.... Best steak n LA - Pittsburgh'd medium rare too....

For future reference, your order at Mr Johns should always consist of a pork belly appetizer. If ur a strip guy, get it .... Im not, have ordered and wont again. Bone-in ribeye for me. Forever.

Got the porterhouse because i had the strip and wifey had the filet. I couldn't believe it came out medium.

Pork belly was good. Had a sample of someone's app.

I was disappointed only because I had way too high expectations.

Should've sent it back. If it's not cooked correctly at place like Mr. John 's, they want you to send it back. They will get it right.

Pittsburgh style

I had my first and only Pittsburg Blue by accident. I ordered a filet blue rare and they prepared it Pittsburg. Pretty darn shocking presentation, but damn it was good. I told the chef that it wasn't what I thought would come out...he laughed and said that he thought people only ordered it that way to look cool. WTF? I didn't even order it that way a-hole. It was good though.
