I love the hornets! i have been a fan ever since they came to new orleans! and there are few teams i hate more than the mavericks. I am just the kind of guy that trust what i see in a game more than stats. I know vasquez will never be that great of a PG just by watching him. But i love the idea of him starting at SF because of his spot up shooting. He would be very helping in spreading the court for davis when he is in the corner. That is something no SF on the roster can do. I love the Hornets! you can't just assume someone hates the hornets because they dont like the idea of GV being our future PG.

If not for the fact that your message, which you have since deleted, was dripping with hatred and animosity towards one of the only good players and leaders we have on our roster. Why would you possibly feel the need to constantly belittle and tear down the accomplishments of a Hornets player if you are a Hornets fan?

The comment is still but their unless someone else took it off. I did accidently post a blank message earlier though.I would love to see vasquez develop into a great player, because he loves new orleans. But i know he is about as good as he will be this year. You can see his play begin to worsen after his great two week stretch. The only thing i hate about vasquez is his slow foot speed and his poor decision making. I feel vasquez spends too many possessions just looking for himself. Too much jacking up shots. Maybe he can get more intelligent and learn what the proper thing to do is but im not sure. In the league today it is hard to win with non athletic guards because there are so many elite guards in the league. I do like the idea of him playing off the ball or in a back up roll. not as a starter.

ya, his level of play has really fallen off a cliff.
Last two games:
15 points, 14 assists
20 points, 5 assists, 7 rebounds

Once again you can't just look at numbers, you have to watch the games. He played very poorly in games like the lakers, magic, and memphis. But if you look at the numbers and you see he got 15pts 9ast. May look good on paper but to see it on the court is much different. I understand what you are saying but i am going mainly off what i see in the game. He wastes too many possessions just driving to the hoop and jacking up a floater. He needs to run the offenses and have more ball movement rather than saying screw this play after the first few seconds ofthe clock and just looking for his own shot.

I think most people on here watch the games.

Yet he has more assists than any other player in the NBA this season.
The Derp is strong in this one
His assist numbers are elite across the board. Calling him selfish is just wrong. He assists on 44.5% of our made field goals when he is in the game. CP3 is at 44.2% and Rondo is at 49%. Holidays is next at 38.1%

I do like the idea of him playing off the ball
Which takes away his most important asset: creating for teammates.
Are you sure you watch the games?

This is the argument you make when facts clearly disagree with your argument, but you refuse to concede. We all watch the games. Your eye test will never supercede quantifiable accomplishments. Unless of course David Stern is planning to change the rules of basketball. Maybe they'll just do away with points and go to a judging system. You'd be the man.
I really wish South of South was a Hornets fan.

So this makes him better than CP3 and rondo right??

so you guys are cool with hurting davis' development. You guys are cool with siding with a middle of the road "pont guard" who "loves his city". These players are contractually obligated to play here. So I couldn't give less of a sh*t if they love us. When the time comes in 4 years that davis is a free agent and we still have our middle of the road point guard leading the way, are you cool with Davis taking off to a team that will actually build around him? The #1 position that makes an offense work is point guard. With no current elite players, we can't settle for average while our future stars suffer. So I ask you to make a choice, Vasquez or Davis and our future. That choice is the difference between championship teams and the next generation Houston rockets, fighting for 8th seed every year

Yeah, that guy with the most assists in the entire league really is holding our offensive production back.

Seems to be working fine to me. 19th in the league in PER and 4th among PFs.

Yeah, because PG is the only position we could possibly upgrade.

I choose...Davis.
No nevermind I want Vasquez!
No, now Davis!
I cant make up my mind. I am going to smoke a bowl.

Gimme some Jack. I want Jack. Where's Jack? I'll just have to put a blonde wig on this no-name over here.

I honestly don't see what the debate is about. We don't have a better PG to take his place, so it's his job until somebody takes it. I don't think we'll be able to draft Smart and I don't believe they will reach for Burke or any of the other pg's (plus the FA market sucks for PGs), so he'll probably get at least another year.
Btw, here is an article from a blogger that is probably higher on Vasquez than anybody else here (LINK )..

It is the most important position to upgrade. There is a huge difference between garbage assists and actually being a competent point guard running the offense. His lack of speed is painful to watch, as is his lack of ability to change ball direction while running. We can live with deficiency at the SF position, because how many elite SF's exist in the league? Davis is our center of the future, and Anderson is our PF. So what position needs an upgrade more than the one hindering our future the most.
