Big Ole rattler "Germans"

When I was about 10 years old, my dad killed one on his property in Montz. It had 14 segments in the rattle. He killed it with a garden hoe.
Somewhere there is a picture of me standing on the tailgate of a 66 chevy truck holding it up and the rattles are touching the ground. It may have been a little smaller than the one shown here, but it was plenty big to my 10 year old eyes.
My dad was, and still is (83 years old) the calmest person I have ever known. I try (and fail) to emulate him.

Look at the size of the head on that snake. That is a monster. A truly magnificent animal. Probably 20 years old.
