I use long grain. My mother also has always used it, but I use it because I like the texture of it.

Wild rice, nothing better. Of course it's expensive and doesn't work for all recipes, but I love the flavor.

Count likes short grain...apparently, the admins don't. LGR is the go to, but I use arborio for risotto , and basmati, though I use it rarely, is a gift from the gods.

I've never used anything other than Reg rice. I take it I'm missing something.

I love both basmati and jasmine, but my husband prefers regular white rice. I buy medium grain. I like the way it holds together. What some people like about long grain is the way the grains separate?

What I really dislike is what I guess is parboiled rice that a lot of restaurants seem to use.

Long grain for most things, but I use medium for sausage jambalaya and pork jambalaya. Chicken and sausage I use long grain. Can't really explain why, just always have.

Anyone like the aromatic Ellis Stansel's Popcorn rice, or the aromatic variety put out by Campbell Farms or the Simon's?

I find it is very good fresh, but doesn't re-heat as well............a little too crunchy.
