I'm looking for new recommendations. Here's my list:

Seven Samurai
Throne of Blood
Yojimbo
Sanjuro
Hidden Fortress
Ran
Kegemusha
Rashomon
Harakiri
Sword of Doom
Kill!
The 47 Ronin

Obviously stuffed with Kurosawa. But what am I missing?

Is that the list you've seen or just the ones you know you need to watch?

Zaitochi
The Twilight Samurai
13 Assassins
Samurai Assassin
Chushingura

Along with your list, that covers all of the major films.

Then you can get into some of the smaller ones.

Is Chuschingura a remake of the 1941 47 Ronin?

And which Zatoichi? I remember the 2003 one being pretty good.

There's about 20+ zatoichi movies. Take your pick, I've enjoyed just about every one I've seen. And imo, it's not zatoichi unless it's Shintaro Katsu.

Lone Wolf & Cub are good too.

ETA- I'll clarify that the ones I mentioned aren't Kurosawa level of good, but they are still very entertaining classic samurai movies.

Both are great. New one is very gory but very very good.

Ha I didn't think of that one as a samurai flick I guess. But yeah, it's great.
