a friend of mine is looking to buy some live crawfish and I was wondering if the FDB would have any suggestions of farmers or markets in the Laffy area...TIA
I know the Fruit Stand in Breaux Bridge has a good reputation...anyone had any experience with them?

I always buy from D&T in Abbeville. Always the best price that I can find.

Biggest and best around are right off of the interstate in Crowley at Cazan seafood ad catering.
Got another sack from them last friday and they blew everyone else around here out the of water.

buy pond crawfish. crowley and eunice areas are good places to start.
when you buy in breaux bridge and around the basin you get basin crawfish.... basin crawfish usually have big heads and little tails, pond crawfish are bred and tend to have bigger tails and smaller heads.

They're graded and the medium are decent. The small are edible. I have never gotten the large but they looked real big in the sack. I prefer eating medium sized crawfish myself.
