Agreed.

1. Messi
2. Cristiano
3-6 in no particular order:
Iniesta
Pirlo
RVP
Xavi
7-10 in no particular order:
Suarez
Bale
Busquets
Falcao

You left out Ribery, who is easily a top 3 player in the world right now based on form.

CR7's fee is just stupid.

Pretty cheap per goal! Especially compared to Torres!

I'd say one pure fullback should be on the list and I would go with Philip Lahm.

God only knows what Real have made from CR7 shirt sales and notoriety, not to mention his performances might have lived up to the fee.

Kaka was an interesting buy for Real though. He was still in his prime, but, if I recall correctly, he was coming off an injury.

He was coming off an injury. That injury killed his speed that he could never seem to get back.

Good list, but I'd take Cavani or Ibra over Bale...

Bale makes a top 10 on current form. If we're just making a list for best players, he's much lower.

Ok, gotcha... yeah, he's as hot as they come right now...

Similar to what we were saying about Suarez, I dont think he'd (Bale) have all that freedom at RM, but it would be even more of a hinderance for Bale's game...

Their front four is pretty fluid, especially with Benzema in the lineup. He'd have a decent amount of freedom.

I might include Reus in that list, but that's mainly because every time I watch him, he looks like the next Messi.

You are seriously deluded if you think Ribery is a top 3 player in the world right now, based on whatever metrics you so please. He is a good player. A very, very good player on the best team in the world. I like him a lot, but Bale is in another stratosphere at the moment.

12 goals in his last 13 league starts from a wide position is absolutely unreal. Cristiano is the only other wide player who is better than him at the moment.

We had a thread last year about top 5 players on the world and I brought up Bale then and he's only gotten better. His speed and ability to score from anywhere are what make him so attractive to me. His biggest problem (and what keeps him off most top 5 lists) is his inconsistency. Just look at todays match, he scored twice and sent in the ball for the third goal...but he also took some amazing bad free kicks.

As for Suarez, he's easily in my top 5 even without my red glasses on for the same reason I rate Ronaldo higher than Messi. If you took CR7 off RM and put him on any mid-table club in Europe, that club would instantly compete for awards. If you take Messi out of the Barca system and put him in a mid-table club in most other European leagues, he wouldn't be the same player. Suarez has been playing with only one other world class player (who is honestly past his best years) and is still easily a top 10 player on the world. If you surround him with the talent that clubs like Bayern, Barca, United, Real, etc. have, nobody questions whether he's top 5.
