By Pitchfork Classic. Definitely worth a watch if you are a Belle and Sebastian fan. And if you aren't, you should give If You're Feeling Sinister a listen. Classic, timeless album.

One of the best tracks on that album --

Me and the Major

Damn, I remember when that record was released on the short lived enclave label... doesnt seem like almost 20 years ago...

My buddy worked for Virgin (absorbed enclave) at the time and send me an advanced copy with a "must listen" declaration...

It is undeniably, a great pop record...

I play that album, The Boy with the Arab Strap, and Tigermilk very frequently and friends hearing them for the first time always ask me how did they not hear about that band back in the 90's? Twee pop ain't exactly commercial radio fodder.

yeah, they definitely had their detractors, even in the indie world... But there is nothing better than a well crafted pop tune and they had 'em in abundance...

My second favorite record is probably The Life Pursuit... I love how Trevor Horn expanded their sound

my favorite b&s track, seeing other people

sadly the documentary didn't go into the background on this one.

Now that I watched the documentary, I am convinced that Kurt Cobain would have gushed about this band if he had lived to hear their stuff.

I can't pick my favorite song from Sinister or Tigermilk, but "Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying" and "Judy and the Dream of Horses" are in my top 5.
