yeah, i guess, their songs weren't as diverse and the lyrics are kindof dumb, but Big Choice was perfect teenager music.
alkaline trio is probably something i would enjoy more now than back then. i remember from here to infirmary, but i was more into rocket from the crypt and hot snakes at the time. after "automatic midnight," pop-punk just sounded cheesy and dated.

See, I think outside of Crimson and that small period, Alkaline Trio's sound is pretty timeless. The fact that it is so simple means that it fits in with just about anything. It is three chords and a cloud of dust. Almost literally. Their songs are really, really simple. That's why they are great.

thats why im sure id dig their albums much better now than i did in the early 00s. for a while, that kind of style was too associated with the stuff i was growing out of, like face to face and bad religion, which is stuff im just now going back and listening to.
they seem like a band that had i known who they were a few years earlier, i would have been a huge fan.

Also my favorite band, I literally hear them every day on my alkaline trio pandora station lol. They just announced their new tour today and they are skipping New Orleans this time. Last time at HOB some jackass threw a drink on the bassist during a song and he got all pissed.

They just announced a tour with Bayside as support. I will be in attendance. Alkaline Trio actually aren't THAT good live IMO, but they're still better than most of the crap out there. Plus, Bayside is always a good time
