Do yourself a favor and check it out. It has Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec) and mark duplass (the league).

Really a unique and entertaining movie which is often rare in today's sequel, prequel, remakes.

I watched it at the theater. Very good, original indie film.

It's pretty similar to Happy Accidents (also on NI last I checked), but yeah, it was pretty good.

*** SPOILERS***

Why do you think he was surprised to find out his ex was still alive? He said he'd done the time travel before, so it's possible that he went back, saved her, and didn't check, but it doesn't make sense for him not to. And he implied that he can't go back forward in time, but since he's not much older than Kristen Bell's character, that would mean he had to have gone back and saved her pretty soon after her death and that he's been living ~10 years without checking.

You should definitely put a spoiler warning there.

And...

***Spoiler***

It WAS important in showing that he wasn't crazy. Plaza's character was interested in him, but was definitely starting to distance herself from him when she found out the ex was alive and thought he was legit insane.

*SPOILERS*

I loved the fact that there was an actual time machine. The whole time you just think this guy is crazy, which he is, and that there is no time machine, but low and behold, there is a time machine.

***Spoiler***

he wasn't insane...just different and hurting. She would have come to understand that, independent of the time machine.

She liked him before he knew about the gf situation, and thought he was nuts about the time machine issue.

my bad. I usually put spoiler warnings in an original post. Is it necessary for every response in a certain movie thread? Do people read pages of a thread about a movie that they don't want to see spoilers on?

I'm fine with it...just wondering.

I just watched this a day or two ago. I think the term "amicable" suits it. I wish there would've been a little better closure on the guy who was visiting his ex.

it was important to show the audience that all of his weird behavior wasn't, in fact, all that weird.

She realized and knew that, but we didn't

I thought the movie was solid, but I don't think it deserves the amount of critical love it gets

Watched it last night, solid but nothing spectacular.

***SPOILERS***

I definitely think the time machine part was important. I'm also torn on what I think about the main guy and his ex. If he had gone back in time and saved her how did he forget it?

Also, I couldn't help but think the entire plot was part of some giant scheme by Pete to screw over Kevin or Ruxin hahahaha.

I took it as, that trip hadn't been made yet. His next trip was going to be where he went back in time to save his gf.

then, at the end, Darius tells him that she's alive, he realizes what he did(or is about to do) worked...then he changes his mind about his mission

...so i took it as, maybe at that point, she ends up dying since he's going back for a different purpose

Just saw this movie last night, I loved it.

SPOILERS****

I understand everyone saying he may have gone back and saved his ex, but that doesn't explain the fact that he ran his car into her bf's house...

Any thoughts?
