Fraudulent Outdoor Purchase

I am making this thread to bitch, seek advice, and in hopes that someone will find the responsible party and put them down like cootkilla would put down a dog with a limp.
Mike's Hog Dog Supply sucks. They are (were) a distributor of Dan's Hunting clothes. I placed an order. Both items in my order were "in stock." A couple of weeks went by and they hadn't shipped. I emailed, and he said my shirt had to be made, but he had the chaps shipped at that time. Apparently the items ship directly from the manufacturer. So, I finally got the chaps, but they were too long. So, I sent them back. The day after I shipped them, their website is down and never came back up. They went out of business. I contacted Dan's and they said the bastard owes them a lot of money too. I have to file a fraud claim with my bank.
What are the odds of my bank getting money out of a company that has shut down?
Should I put a hit out on him?
Cliff notes version: Mike's Hog Dog Supply sucks.

Sucks people are taking advantage of others during this time. I am now only doing business with companies that are established.
I may pay a little more for peace of mind.

Depends on the bank. I bank with Chase and had a similar issue with a company. They put the funds back into my account pending a investigation (similar to a CC dispute). After 30 days the company failed to respond and I was in the clear.

I had a gas station double charge me once. They refunded my money immediately. This was Chase and all I had to do was call and explain the situation. Hopefully your bank will be as helpful.

Well, that makes me feel a little better. I bank with Redstone Federal Credit Union. They've always been very easy to deal with in the past and I'm in good standing with them. Hopefully they'll fix it.

BBB
And then yes, put a hit on him.

Despite some peoples dislike for credit cards, this is why try to use one when making purchases online where you don't receive the good immediately.

Small credit unions are usually pretty good about customer service. Its the larger banks that cause the problems. Just stick with it and go in person to talk to a branch manager if necessary.
You can contact the BBB but if they are closed it wont really matter. Hell, if they were still open it still wont matter. Look at Botach's BBB score and I was still dumb enough to order from them.

As others have said, Chase is the tits.
I wonder what Botach's BBB score was before December 18th 2012. Probably a lot better than it is now.

Went in and prepaid $100. My truck took $95 and would not take a drop more, I tried. Went back in and just asked him to credit my card for the $5 difference. Got on the road and started to wonder how soon it would be till I saw that $5 again. Pulled it up on my phone and saw that he charged me $95 instead of returning $5. Called Chase and told them these exact words and they said no problem, refresh your Chase app and the money will be back in your account.
